NOTTINGHAM MOVIEMAKERS

Nottingham Moviemakers

Find your local video club
The IAC has a full list of all the clubs in the UK.
www.theiac.org.uk

We are a friendly club open to all those interested in making movies. You do not need to have expensive equipment and can join the club at any time of the year.
We are an enthusiastic amateur movie-making club and tend to make films lasting from 1 to 20 minutes that are either dramas, documentaries or music videos. We are particularly keen on ideas that we can make into short films that we enter into local, regional and national competitions. If you are interested in film making, from preparing a script, learning new techniques or a budding actor interested in being on the ' big ' screen, then this is the club for you.

WHERE WE MEET

We meet at the Dunkirk & Old Lenton Community Centre which is next to the Dunkirk Flyover, the Community Centre is the old school building on Montpelier Road.
Turn left into Lace Street which is next to Beeston Road Post Office, then take the next left (Brailsford Road) and then left into Montpelier Road. STREET MAP

MMM Inter-club Competition 2007/8
This competition involves all the clubs in the Midland Movie Makers; there are 6 rounds with one held at each club at 7.45pm. The host club does not enter a movie but has the job of judging the 5 movies from the other clubs and choosing the winner. Points are awarded for 1st. 2nd. and 3rd. Place. At the beginning of the season we choose 5 movies to represent our club. The club that gets the most points over the 6 rounds wins the trophy, which is held for one year. This is an excellent way of meeting members of other clubs and seeing their films. Unfortunately Nottingham will not be taking part in this competition this year.
